How do you install PFA tubing?
I. What is a PFA Pipe?
1.1 What is PFA?
PFA, short for perfluoroalkoxy—also known as perfluoroalkoxy resin—is a high-performance fluoropolymer. It is a high-molecular-weight polymer produced by the copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoropropyl vinyl ether. While retaining PTFE’s exceptional properties, PFA incorporates alkoxy side chains to enhance its processability, enabling it to be melt-processed via extrusion and injection molding—standard thermoplastic processing techniques. 1.2 What is a PFA tube?
A pipe manufactured by hot-melt processing of PFA resin is called a PFA pipe.
Dankei PFA tubing possesses the following core characteristics:
1. Exceptional chemical resistance: Exhibits extremely high resistance to nearly all strong acids, strong bases, organic solvents, and oxidizing agents, resulting in outstanding chemical stability.
2. Wide temperature tolerance: Continuous operating temperatures range from -80°C to +260°C, ensuring stable performance under both extreme high- and low-temperature conditions.
3. Excellent electrical non-conductivity: Possesses outstanding dielectric properties, making it suitable for high-demand electrical applications.
4. Low friction and non-stick properties: The surface is smooth, with a low coefficient of friction and inherent anti-adhesive characteristics.
5. High Purity and Safety: The material is pure and does not require the addition of plasticizers or stabilizers, meeting FDA safety standards and suitable for food and medical-contact applications.

III. How to Install PFA Tubing?
Standard PFA tubing can be cut and installed according to the application requirements, with connection options including ferrule fittings, flare fittings, welded fittings, compression fittings, and flange fittings.
1. Welding PFA tubing: A PFA welding fitting is used to join the tubes by heating, ensuring a strong, leak-free connection. This process requires specialized tools and skilled craftsmanship.
2. Flared fittings for PFA tubing: Specialized flared fittings are used to connect Danke PFA tubing, eliminating the need for welding and ensuring simple operation.
3. PFA tube connection with ferrule fittings: PFA ferrule fittings are ideal when tubes need to be frequently replaced or relocated. The connection method is simple and quick, making it well-suited for applications that require regular maintenance and frequent disassembly and reassembly.
4. Bead-Insertion Fitting Connection: Connect the pipe fitting with the bead to the fitting, then tighten the nut to complete the installation. The operation is simple and quick.
