Teflon molding method: Teflon molding includes mixing, preforming, sintering, cooling four steps. Preforming is to add PTFE PTFE powder evenly into the mold, and press it into a dense preform (I. e. blank) at room temperature; sintering is to heat the preform to above the melting point, and cooling is from the sintering temperature to the process of room temperature.
Some Teflon is in the melting point temperature above a pressure, this forming mold, called hot die, and the corresponding mold called cold die.
PTFE molding should pay attention to the compression ratio (general PTFE is 4-6) and molding shrinkage (general PTFE is 2.6-4.5%) on the impact of the product.
The first step: the raw material is preferably a suspension polymerization resin, and a soft fine powder with a particle size of 20-500 microns is preferred.
The second step: The pressing process must be "deflated". The pre-forming pressure is 17-35 MPa. The holding time depends on the thickness of the blank. For example, a 100mm thick blank should be pressed for 15 minutes.
Step 3: When sintering Teflon, attention should be paid to the heating rate of 20-120 ℃ for hours. The larger the product, the slower the heating rate. The sintering temperature of Teflon suspension resin is higher, 370-380 ℃, while the sintering temperature of dispersion resin is lower, 360-370 ℃, the sintering temperature is higher, the shrinkage rate and porosity increase, and the sintering time should be properly controlled.
The fourth step: cooling, generally with slow cooling, the speed is 15-25 ℃ hours, in special circumstances, such as a few thickness of less than 5mm thin plate or push forming thin-walled tube, only with rapid cooling.
Sometimes Teflon products are annealed for 4-6 hours at a temperature of 100-120°C.
