Difference between PTFE, PFA, FEP, ETFE
PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene (also known as PTEF),PFA tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoroalkoxy vinyl ether copolymer (also known as perfluoroalkylate),FEP fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer (also known as F46, is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene),ETFE ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (commonly known as polyvinyl fluoride). Heat resistance from large to small is above PTFE 260 ℃; PFA 260 ℃; FEP 200 ℃;ETFE 150 ℃
Teflon is divided into PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE several basic types:
Teflon PTFE:PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) non-stick coating can be used continuously at 260 ℃, with a maximum use temperature of 290-300 ℃, extremely low friction coefficient, good wear resistance and excellent chemical stability.
Teflon FEP:FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer) non-stick coating melts and flows to form a non-porous film during baking. It has excellent chemical stability and excellent non-stick characteristics. The maximum operating temperature is 200 ℃
Teflon PFA:PFA (perfluoroalkylate) non-stick coatings, like FEP, melt flow when baked to form a non-porous film. The advantage of PFA is that it has a higher continuous use temperature of 260 ℃, stronger rigidity and toughness, and is especially suitable for use in the field of anti-sticking and chemical resistance under high temperature conditions.
Teflon ETFE:ETFE is a copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene. This resin is the toughest fluoropolymer. It can form a highly durable coating, has excellent chemical resistance, and can work continuously at 150°C.
