What is 1. PTFE bellows?
PTFE bellows is a special tubular elastic sensitive element, which is connected by foldable wrinkle sheet along the direction of folding and stretching. This bellows is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), also known as Teflon, Teflon, etc., and is manufactured through a special inflation molding process. In this process, the PTFE pipe is heated to a certain temperature in a certain mold, and a certain internal pressure is given in the pipe to make the pipe expand laterally (blow up), and then cool and set. PTFE bellows not only has the inherent properties of polytetrafluoroethylene, but also has high flexibility and elasticity, and can be made into V-shaped, U-shaped and Ω-shaped different corrugated shapes as required.
What is 2. FEP bellows?
FEP bellows is a special tubular elastic sensitive element made of FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer) material. FEP is an excellent insulating material with excellent chemical stability, thermal stability and electrical insulation properties. FEP bellows are often used in chemical fluid delivery devices. Because it can withstand the erosion of most chemical substances, FEP bellows are used to transport various chemical fluids in the fields of chemical industry, pharmacy and laboratory to ensure the safe transmission of fluids. In addition, FEP bellows are often used as sampling water lines in groundwater analysis. Due to the extremely high purity of the material, it will not pollute the measured object, so the groundwater can be pumped to the surface through the hose without affecting the accuracy of the measurement results.

3. PTFE bellows and FEP bellows difference
1. Differences in characteristics
PTFE material has a strong resistance to acid and alkali and a variety of organic solvents, its excellent high temperature characteristics and very low coefficient of friction, making it not only as a lubricant, but also an ideal coating material for cleaning the inner layer of water pipes.
In contrast, FEP materials are suitable for the manufacture of flexible plastics, which are chemically inert and have a low dielectric constant over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies. The material is not easy to burn and can effectively prevent the spread of flame. It has excellent wear resistance and low friction coefficient, and is suitable for various environments from low temperature to high temperature.
2. Differences in application areas
PTFE because of its significant resistance to voltage strength and breakdown voltage advantages, widely used in capacitor dielectric, wire insulation, electrical instrument insulation and sealing gasket and so on. In particular, the PTFE film after directional treatment has a wide range of applications in light industry, military industry, aerospace, oil fields and other fields.
The FEP material can be made into granular products for extrusion and molding, can also be made into powder for fluidized bed and electrostatic coating, can also form film, plate and other semi-finished products. It is mainly used in the production of pipelines and chemical equipment lining, drum surface and all kinds of wires and cables, such as aircraft hook line, pressurized cable, etc. In addition, FEP films are also used as thin coatings for solar collectors.
3. Different types of production
According to different processing requirements, FEP materials can be divided into three forms: pellets, dispersions and paints. According to the different melt index, the pellets are suitable for molding, extrusion and injection molding; the dispersion is used for impregnation and sintering; and the paint is suitable for spraying and other processes.
The PTFE color film is made by suspending PTFE resin and adding colorant, after molding, sintering, turning and calendering processes. This color film is not only rich in color, but also maintains good electrical insulation, especially suitable for insulation and classification identification of wires, cables, and electrical devices.
